How To Style A Bar Cart W/O Alcohol

Hello Darling,

For those of you who have been following me from the beginning, know that I do not drink alcohol. Give me all the sugar and hot chocolate LOL! There are so many cute ways to style a bar cart, booze free. You will see Bar carts everywhere and they are quickly becoming the latest home decor trend. I recently added one in our bedroom, to give the space more of a trendy, chic vibe. I was originally going to use it as a nightstand, but now use it for my holiday decor area.

This circular bar cart is SO trendy and priced very reasonably. To be honest, when I googled “bar carts”, this was one of the first pieces that came up. I IMMEDIATELY fell in LOVE. I think the rustic gold and circular design gives it a cute vintage vibe. I plan on changing the decor each month to correspond with the current holiday season. Right now, it is decorated for Halloween/Thanksgiving. This “Fall inspired” bar cart will give you all of the fall, cozy vibes. Call me basic, but this is pumpkin spice and everything nice!

Self-Care (Guide to Feeding the soul, spirit and body)

Hello Darling,

First off, if you are new to my blog, thank you for reading. Many of you requested that I share my self-care journey from this past month. It is no secret that I am constantly on the go- running from one audition to another. Sometimes I run myself ragged and forget how important it is to take the time to take care of myself. There is only one you. Don’t ever forget that.

This past month, I experienced some major curveballs, disappointments and things that were just thrown at me. I needed support, love and peace. Sometimes we don’t understand why things happen, but they do. While climbing over this mountain of disappointment, I found things that lifted my spirit, fed my soul and cared for my body. I am excited to share my spiritual journey with you all, and I hope you take the time to CARE for yourself and give it the love it deserves.

SOUL:

Community– Being an actor, I’ve always felt that I needed to be a part of something. I love the feeling of being surrounded by other people that share the same passion as I do. I think it’s important to surround yourself with other human beings that are genuinely there for the same reason. Whether this be a support group, a bible study, an art class, book club or new class. Find something that you are passionate and can share with others. I joined an online women’s support group and it’s a beautiful community.

Hobby- Investing so much time into theatre and my craft can sometimes drain my soul. I needed to find something else that was a creative outlet, but excluded theatre. Hence, why I started to blog. Blogging gives me the opportunity to create, express and explore. Find something else outside of your norm, that brings you joy.

Facebook Detox- I know, I know. How can you be a media influencer/ fashion blogger and delete Facebook? I deleted it for a week and it was the most invigorating experience. I needed the detox and needed to escape. We find ourselves comparing and criticizing when we see other’s posts. These little reminders can cause anxiety and or feed out positive thoughts. For me, the detox was much needed. I want to create a positive environment, not a negative one filled with politics and battle fights over equity vs. non- equity LOL.

Me night– You’re probably wondering what on earth does this mean? This is a night where you literally shut off all electronics and meditate. I typically take a shower and listen to my favorite playlist; baths are awesome too. Turn on some Celine Dion, light that pumpkin spice latte candle, close your eyes,  just breathe & relax. Practice breathing exercises too. This helps to take in more oxygen and release more negativity/ anxiety.

Putting phone in airplane mode– Oops—you’re mad because I responded to your text five hours later? Not sure about you, but I get overwhelmed sometimes and bombarded with messages. I will then continue to put my phone in airplane mode. This sounds harsh and I used to feel VERY guilty doing this, but it works for me. It’s okay to “un-plug for a little while.” Of course, I get back to everyone.

BODY:

Cryotherapy- Okay, I was SO skeptical at first. I actually didn’t think “becoming Elsa” for 2 minutes would work. If you are dealing with allergies, inflammation, anxiety, stress, struggling with weight loss, an immunity disorder; than I HIGHLY recommend this. I would suggest this to all of my dancer ladies. I visit Cryology in Babylon, Long Island. This place is AMAZING. Cryotherapy is not just your everyday sports ice bath. When you ice your skin, it simply penetrates the skin, which just cools the tissues and muscles, causing blood vessels to constrict. This can be uncomfortable, and can actually freeze and damage the muscle. The cold sensation of cryotherapy does not penetrate the skin, but the body still responds as if it is freezing, and immediately activates a recovery response. This is my new healing magic. I SWEAR by this. If you have any other questions regarding this, feel free to message or email me!

Salt Cave- If you think this is a myth, then you are 100% wrong. I am obsessed with salt caves. I had this lingering asthma cough; and after one hour in the salt cave I wasn’t coughing. This is a magical place of healing. I went home and took a nap and slept through the night. I had been struggling with sleeping for the past week. It is very relaxing and the salt actually helps loosen mucus. If you have been struggling with asthma, allergies and or upper respiratory issues; try this. Salt therapy is risk-free and patients, merely sit back in one of the salt cave treatment rooms. In the 55 minutes you sit there, the healing micro-climate of a natural salt cave is reproduced by the most advanced device called Breeze Tronic Pro and clears lung passages.

(Please note, I am in no way shape or form a medical professional, these are just things that worked for me.)

Nutrition– They were not kidding when they said, “you are what you eat.” I have always had a fast metabolism. I would finish an entire personal pizza and be ready for another meal. I was known for keeping snacks and candy in my purse. I would eat some type of candy every single day. Until one day, it caught up to me and affected my health. This past month, I cut out sugars and greasy foods. I suddenly felt a huge change and energy. Nutrition is just as important as working out. I finally learned that.

Magnesium– Did you know that magnesium is a natural supplement to heal anxiety, asthma and upper respiratory issues? I add two tsp of Magnesium into my water bottle every morning. This actually has kept me calm and feeling at peace. I highly recommend this natural supplement. Of course, as always check with your doctor first.

MIND:

Reading- Put those scripts, study guides and textbooks aside. Pick up an actual book and read. I personally needed to read something besides my script for a few days. I have been reading The Let Go life by, Joseph Prince. Get lost in a book. Embrace the adventure; jump into the story.

Spiritual Faith– Whatever this means to you. Whether you need to meditate, attend church or read inspiring  quotes. Find where your faith stems from. For me, my faith is in God. I read my daily devotionals every single day and spend time in the word. I join in on Elevation Church live, every Sunday. I NEED that to fuel my soul. It’s very important to me, and it keeps my focus on the right things. We all have different beliefs, but embrace your own and rest in it. Faith is the things unseen.

See, it becomes this rotation cycle for me. Free the mind, fuel the body and cradle the soul. Once I find things that free the mind, do things that take care of my body; my soul is happy. A happy soul = a happy life. Thank you for reading and I hope this inspires you to do a little self-care this month.

Xo,

M
